HELPFUL HINTS

THURSDAY IS THE NEW SATURDAY. THAT MAKES WEDNESDAY THE NEW FRIDAY. As you plan your future event and wonder how you can increase your bottom line, consider moving your benefit date to a weekday. Think about all your set cost by suppliers needed to execute your event. Those dollars cut into your bottom line.

Everybody chooses Friday or Saturday for their benefit, which makes it hard for you to cut any kind of deal when those days are saturated.

Would your supporters attend your event on a workday if your event ended by 10:30pm? Would your suppliers charge less on an evening that is now idle for them? I think so.

CASE STUDY

The DABR held a small event at Benham's Grove in Centerville on a Monday night with wine tasting, appetizers and just under 120 guests. The total value of items offered for auction was $4,300, which sold for $7,475 in 35 minutes.

You don't need 300 guests on a Saturday night black tie affair at an expensive banquet hall. Any small non profit can duplicate this result, and I can show you how at a reasonable fee.

TESTIMONIALS

"I have been an Executive in non-profits for 25 years, and conducted several auctions including many in California. Without a doubt, Doug Sorrell is the best auctioneer I have ever seen..."
